Members of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) have thrown their weight behind the new leadership of the Nigeria Civil Aviation (NCAA), led by Captain Chris Najomo as the Acting Director General of the regulatory body.
The operators are also calling on other stakeholders across the sector to support the NCAA DG.
Najomo who since his appointment has been actively engaging with stakeholders from various sectors of the industry, recently met with the representatives of the airline operators where he pledged to collaborate with all key players in tackling all challenges confronting ting the sector.
During his meeting with the AON, the NCAA DG promised to create a more favourable and conducive operating environment that will enhance the operations of domestic carriers.
Based on the positive outcomes of these meetings, the airlines are relieved and optimistic that a new era has dawned in the sector, hence their resolve to support the Najomo-led NCAA in the arduous task of building upon the sector’s achievements.
One of the airlines’ chief executive, who shared his personal experience with Najomo at the Abuja meeting, commended his dedication to service delivery by citing how he swiftly resolved an issue regarding document processing,
While emphasizing the importance of collaboration and synergy among all stakeholders for the industry’s growth, the airline CEO called on all stakeholders, including airline executives, service providers, ground handlers, and others committed to the industry’s development, to rally behind Najomo.
Highlighting the DG’s extensive experience in the aviation industry, the executive expressed confidence that with collaboration, the industry can achieve great heights which will propel Nigerian aviation to new levels of success.
Najomo, a highly experienced pilot with over 40 years of experience, has received training from various institutions and conducted courses both domestically and internationally.
His career includes performing roles as Air Traffic Control Assistant, NCAA Designated Examiner, Director of Flight Operations, and Training Captain/Simulator Instructor.
His exceptional qualifications and accomplishments have earned him recognition and awards, including the prestigious title of Best Pilot of the Year by NCAA.
Prior to his appointment as Acting DG of NCAA, he served as the Chief Pilot for Arik Air and later as the Director of Air Transport Regulation (DATR) at the NCAA.
