It was pomp and ceremonies as Barrister Mrs. Ann Idu, the former General Manager, Customer service, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, (FAAN) bowed out of service as she clocked 60.
The venue of the retirement ceremony, NIGAV center MMIA, was filled to capacity as top Management and staff from the various departments clad in beautiful Asoebi material chosen for the event graced the ceremony.
The occasion was also spiced with traditional yoruba and Ibo dancers and live performances by upcoming artistes and slide presentation of Mrs Idu’s early live in the UK, in Nigeria and stay in FAAN.
The celebrant was ushered into the beautifully decorated hall by her hubby, Mr. Fortune Idu, family members, FAAN staff, friends and well-wishers with a scintillating Nigeria music from the stables of the Disc Jockey.
The Managing Director, FAAN, Mr Kabir Mohammed, represented by the Director, Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Nike Aboderin, in his opening remarks thanked Mrs Idu for her service to FAAN and Nigerians.
On behalf of himself, the Directors, Management and staff of FAAN, a plaque of honour in appreciation for her service and contribution to the growth and development was presented to Mrs Idu.
“You have done very well, you have worked very hard, you should be proud of yourself, you are going to greater heights, the Lord would go ahead of you and make everything easy for you, we thank God for your life for all your sacrificial service to FAAN and all the various departments, well done”, the FAAN MD’s representative declared.
Earlier in his welcome address the husband of the celebrant, Mr. Fortune Idu appreciated all present on behalf of his wife for the outpour of love and honouring their invitation.
His words: “I am married to the most beautiful woman on earth, am married to a very able partner who understands and who have motivated me to a great height that I stand today and am very thankful to God, welcome to a celebration of the end of the beginning of a new life that has started a long time that has come to a point a professional career stepping up to a different level.
“I welcome you as we celebrate God’s goodness that has led my wife to this point today”.
In their various goodwill messages, staff of different departments commended the celebrant for her selflessness,
and motherly advise to them all.
Highlights of the celebration was the cutting of the 60th anniversary cake, toast to the celebrant and presentation of gifts by staff.
