It was a gathering of “who is who” as the world gathered at Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State for the burial ceremony of Reverend (Dr) Victoria Peace Odika, mother of the Executive Director at the Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc, Mr Herbert Odika.
Right from Lagos and other parts of the country, the Odika family had created an enabling atmosphere to encourage members who desired to attend the burial ceremony of their mother, grandmother, auntie and sister. The funeral held Friday April 12th to Sunday April 14th, 2024.
Members of the Church of Faith Bible Ministry from all their branches across the country joined the crowd of friends, family, and well-wishers from all walks of life who thronged the Issele Uku community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Choir of the Church which late Victoria nurtured throughout her lifetime entertained guests with hit Gospel songs back to back during the funeral service.
The community on their own, did not hide their admiration for late Victoria Odika’s hard work, generosity and commitment in things of God. The departed, who was famous for his generosity and philanthropy, according to mourners contributed positively towards the huge success of both her children and other people in the society at large.
The entire staff of SAHCO were massively on ground to support one of their own. Also family friends, relatives and community leaders came to celebrate with the Odika family.
It was indeed a celebration of life as there was plenty to eat, drink and take-away that memorable Saturday 13th April, 2024 that Mama was laid to rest in Herbert Odika’s residence right inside the cosy ambience of Ogbe-Owele quarters at Issele-Uku.
Mourning the late woman, Senior Pastor, Rev Jonathan Marvelous at the Service of Songs recalled that late Reverend Victoria will be greatly missed for her devotion to God, humanity and family.
In his sermon titled “Be Careful How you Live and What You Preach, Pastor Marvelous said “, late Rev Victoria lived such a good life and may God grant all of us to live to praise and preach the gospels that will be the ground and pillar of truth”.
Marvelous therfore, admonished that people should be careful how they live their lives.
“We should live a life that is a blessing to mankind. Late Rev Victoria lived such life and may God grant all of us to live to praise and preach the gospels that will be the ground and pillar of truth”,the clergy added.
Reading a tribute to his grandmother, one of the grandchildren, Mr Ifechukwude eulogized the departed, saying she was kind and ever ready to help out at any point in time.
“Mama lived well and she was such a good example for me”, Ifechukwude said.
Also some of her children, including Elder Jonathan Odika, Mr Herbert Odika, Evangelist Eunice Odika and others gave a glowing tribute of their departed mother.
