Nigerian born Mrs Oluwasola O. Awe has been elected to the International Airport Professional (IAP) Community of practice (CoP) Governing Board.
Awe, presently an acting general manager, administration at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), would be representing Africa region on the Board which has membership from Asia- Pacific, Europe, Latin America-Caribbean and North America.
The International Airport Professional Community of Practice (IAP CoP) offers AMPAP graduates and other stakeholders an active and live space for Airport Professionals to network, collaborate and share experiences, best practices, and opinions among world-class experts.
In doing this, the IAP CoP facilitates the creation of new knowledge and best practices, thereby enhancing the profession of Airport Management on a global scale.
Presently, 122 countries are represented on the CoP.
Oluwasola holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from the University of Ilorin Kwara State, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Lagos, and a Masters in Sustainable Air Transport Management from ITAérea Aeronautical Business School Spain.
She has a Diploma in Airport Executive Leadership from ACI/JMSB Concordia University and has attended several local and ICAO/ACI trainings.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSAN), she is also an International Airport Professional (iap).
She becomes the second Nigerian to be elected on the IAP CoP Board for the next two years (2024- 2025) after the former Managing Director/CEO Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Mr Kabir Y. Mohammed (iap).
