OBJ unscripted unveils the memoirs of Nigeria”s former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo reflecting an extraordinary narrative of public service from his humble beginning as a young famer in his in Owu.
He attended Baptist Boys High School Abeokuta, graduated and got into teaching briefly before enlisting into the Nigerian Army .
After his completion of Military training in 1959, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. During his early military career he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and rose through the Army ranks, and eventually became the Rear Commander of General Murtala Muhammed which in 1975Â positioned him for critical role of leadership and public service. He however, relinquished power to Civilian rule in 1979.
OBJ, had worked with the United Nations, launched the African Leadership Forum and written many Books. He had done trainings around the world including Ghana, United States and India and many others Nations.
Afterwards he went into his passion, farming by 1987, he has 400 workers as he admonished that this is what all Nigerians ought to do to make Operation Feed the Nation a reality for food to be surplus in the nation.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is an Elder Statesman. Who is rare especially in hard work and fitness for his age. When asked on how he has achieved his physical agility, he replies that he used the strategy called DREMS, mraning you eat well balanced diets, rest well do exercise and be contented.
His National Library is an idea conceived as a research information Centre.
Speaking sbout his personal achievement he is most proud of, OBJ said it was how the Civil War ended.
As far has he is concerned the best holiday destination is Baku, because it has the best architectural designs and it’s coming up to be a destination of choice.
Regarding the present state of the Country, Obasanjo who said that economy doesn’t stand alone, declared: “we have the different arms that work together which is the international relations, political, and cultural. This must all work together for national development”.
On the future of Nigeria Obasanjo envisions that Nigeria
by 2050, will be the third largest nation in terms of population, economy and technology after China and India.
