As preparations for the Sallah festival draws closer, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has assured Nigerians particularly air travelers of a very seamless travel throughout the country’s airports
In a statement issued by the Director of public affairs and consumer protection at FAAN, Mrs Obiageli Orah, the authority in its determination to make air travels safe and.secured for those who wish to travel during the festival, has consistently taken measures to upgrade her security apparatus to ensure safety of life and property of the travelling public .
FAAN, therefore, advised all travellers to be at the airport early enough in order not to miss their flights as well as reduce rush.
According to FAAN, International travellers must be at the airport three hours before departure, while local travellers must ensure to arrive about two hours to flight schedule .
“Please ensure that you pack your luggage by yourself. Do not leave your luggage unattended.”
FAAN equally announced that it has expanded the screening area in order to cope with traffic surge that may happen and to further give passengers a better flying experience..
While urging intended travelers to keep an eye on their valuables while passing through screening, FAAN advised travellers to ensure they park their vehicles properly at the car park to avoid it being towed.
“Please do not engage the services of touts”, the statement insisted.
The Managing Director of FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, at a recent event had sent out a severe warning to staff as well as all government agencies that operate at the airports that FAAN will ensure that whoever is found wanting will be thoroughly punished.
The MD warned against given bribes or extorting even as she preached that rules guiding against .carriage of prohibited articles, liquids, and gel must be totally respected.
“We have information desks at all our airports to assist you. Please make use of them. FAAN wishes everyone a happy holiday.”
