The general secretary of Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP) Comrade Abdulrasaq Saidu has called for the redeployment of the permanent secretary in the ministry of aviation, Dr Emmanuel Meribole in order to give way for progress in the sector.
Speaking on the Condition of Service (COS) of aviation workers which has been neglected for over ten years, Comrade Saidu disclosed that the permanent secretary has not been championing the course of aviation workers.
According to the ANAP scribe, the permanent secretary has had several opportunities to better the lots of aviation workers especially when he was in charge of ministry of labour, but failed to do so.
Saidu lamented how in the past few months, despite several letters written to him on COS have been neglected as he continued evade meetings with unions.
The ANAP scribe accused the permanent secretary of. misinforming the former aviation minister on issues bothering workers in the aviation sector.
Saidu cited how the permanent secretary failed to advise the minister on the controversial Nigeria Air in which huge amount of money was spent without achieving any good result.
Saidu declared that the aviation ministry needed someone with in-depth knowledge of aviation as permanent secretary, citing how the former permanent secretary, Engineer Hassan Musa, performed excellently while there by advising the minister effectively.
He further accused the present permanent secretary of keeping unkept promises which has not helped the industry.
